Steering Committees and specialist groups develop the standards of tomorrow

At GS1 Germany, Steering Committees focused on topics such as EPC/RFID, EAN standards and ECR Demand and Supply Side bear the technical responsibility for developing standards. Company representatives from trade and industry work together in these committees to improve the flow of goods and information on a cross-company basis. They communicate directly with the product management of GS1 Germany and employ specialist groups for specific questions. Various industry committees also ensure that the interests of the different industrial sectors are taken into account. Finally, the Advisory Board of the Akademische Partnerschaft establishes the link to science. Its members promote the integration of GS1 standards into teaching and research.

The GS1 Germany solution providers supply expert support in the practical implementation of GS1 standards. They comprise a group which is firmly integrated into the committee structure of GS1 Germany and actively support the other working groups with technical expertise and practical experience. They deal with all current questions concerning ECR, AutoID and eBusiness and have already completed various development and standardisation projects.
