GS1 Germany promotes the spread of uniform standards through investments in appropriate companies

EPCON GmbH

The future belongs to EPC/RFID: In 2008 GS1 Germany and Bavarion Beteiligungs GmbH founded a separate company to further the widespread use of radio frequency technology and of the Electronic Product Code (EPC). Together with GS1 Germany and the European EPC Competence Center (EECC), EPCON GmbH will offer consulting services and assistance in introducing RFID/EPC.

Hotelreservierungs- und Tagungsmanagement GmbH (H.U.T.)

In 2008 GS1 also established H.U.T. GmbH, a 100% subsidiary. In future this company will handle all the management tasks for its events, including hotel reservation management. This is also to be made accessible externally.

European EPC Competence Center

The EECC was launched in 2007. This training and test centre is financed by GS1 Germany, Deutsche Post World Net, Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH and the METRO Group. It offers an attractive range of courses for first-time and experienced users of RFID technology. In addition, RFID transponders can be tested at the goods portal under laboratory conditions and conditions that simulate real life.

SA2 Worldsync

New-generation data pool services: SA2 Worldsync enables the efficient exchange of article master data on the basis of international GDSN standards, a feature utilised by more than 2,600 companies around the world. SA2 Worldsync is a joint venture of the partners Pironet NDH AG, Agentrics LLC and GS1 Germany. It was created by merging SINFOS GmbH with the Agentrics division GenSync.
