GS1 Germany und GS1 US verkünden Joint-Venture ihrer Tochterunternehmen SA2 Worldsync und 1SYNC

Köln, Deutschland und Lawrenceville, New Jersey – GS1 Germany und GS1 US, die zwei größten Organisationen des GS1-Netzwerks, gaben heute bekannt, dass sie eine Absichtserklärung (LOI) zum Zusammenschluss ihrer Tochtergesellschaften SA2 Worldsync (GS1 Germany) und 1SYNC (GS1 US) unterzeichnet haben. Der Zusammenschluss der beiden führenden Unternehmen im Bereich des integrierten Datenmanagements von Produktinformationen für Industrie und Handel soll im dritten Quartal des Geschäftsjahres 2012 erfolgen.

Eine paritätische Besetzung der Führungsgremien im zukünftigen Unternehmen untermauert das partnerschaftliche und vornehmlich auf Kundenbedürfnisse ausgerichtete Joint-Venture. Die Zusammenführung der Unternehmen erfolgt auf Augenhöhe.

SA2 Worldsync und 1SYNC bedienen – direkt oder indirekt – über 15.000 Unternehmen in mehr als 40 Ländern mit Dienstleistungen und Lösungen im Bereich der Produktdatensynchronisation. Mit Informationen zu mehr als sieben Millionen Artikeln verfügt das neue Unternehmen über optimale Voraussetzungen für das Management vertrauenswürdiger Produktdaten im „Global Data Synchronization Network“ (GDSN). Über dieses Netzwerk können sowohl global als auch national agierende Unternehmen Daten mit Hunderten von Handelspartnern austauschen.

Letter of intent signed; closing expected in third quarter

Lawrenceville, N.J. and Cologne, Germany (May 8, 2012) – GS1 US and GS1 Germany, two of the largest member organizations of the GS1 System, today announced they have signed a letter of intent to combine their 1SYNC (GS1 US) and SA2 Worldsync (GS1 Germany) subsidiaries.

GS1 US and GS1 Germany plan to complete the transaction in the third quarter of 2012.

1SYNC and SA2 Worldsync together provide product data synchronization services and solutions to more than 15,000 businesses, directly or indirectly, in more than 40 countries. The highly complementary organizations manage product data for more than 7 million items, allowing some of the world’s largest brand owners to share trusted product information with hundreds of trading partners via the GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network.
